HIV – It stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus is the virus which causes AIDS. This virus damages the immune and spread during sexual activity with female partner. By using condoms it can prevent the spread of HIV virus during sex. It is that virus which breaks down the specific cells in the immune system of the body. The immune system of the body protect against diseases which are help in prevent several diseases is caused due to spreading of virus and bacteria. HIV are those virus which passes from person to person and destroys an important kind of the cell in the immune system called CD4 cells or T cells which can be used in protect the infections from other virus and bacteria. If the person has not these CD4 cells then body cannot fight against infection from virus.
AIDS is also caused by the reducing number of CD4 cells and is the most dangerous stage of HIV which leads to death. Generally it takes around 10 years for HIV to develop AIDS. If a person may treat the problem of HIV virus then it slows down the damage the virus which helps in healthy for several decades.
How do you get HIV –
HIV is present in vaginal fluids, semen (cum), breast milk and anal mucus blood. This virus gets in the body by cuts or sores in the skin or through mucous membranes such as the inside of the vagina, rectum, and opening of the penis. An individual can get HIV from:
- Sharing needles or syringes from infected person to other person from inserting drugs, piercings, tattoos and many more.
- The people get HIV-infected blood, semen (cum), or vaginal fluids into open cuts or sores on the body of an individual.
- Having anal or vaginal sex.
- You get stuck with a needle which has HIV-infected blood on it
Generally HIV is spreading by having unsafe sex with infected person. By using condoms, the male and female are protected from HIV virus during sex. When a person has gone for treatment of HIV then it reduces the possibility of spreading this virus to other person during sexual intercourse. HIV can also be passing through babies during pregnancy or birth or breastfeeding. If a pregnant woman affected with HIV then take medicine for reducing the possibility of HIV virus transfer to baby.
Can you get HIV from kissing?
No It is important to note that HIV virus is not spread through saliva, thus a person cannot get this virus from sharing food or drinks, kissing, using the same spoon or fork. This virus is also not spread from holding hands, hugging, sneezing or coughing. Finally the person also cannot HIV from a toilet seat.
Some of the people got HIV from infected blood transfusions. Now the receiving or getting blood in hospital is totally safe. In the hospitals, doctors, and blood donation cannot use needles more than once. The donated blood is examines for HIV and other infections.
Symptoms of HIV –
Generally people look and feel totally healthy for several years after they are infected with other person. It can take 10 years for any HIV symptoms if any person gets the treatment of HIV then symptoms of HIV appear after more than 10 years. It is important to get tested for HIV daily if you have had unsafe sex or shared needles with affected person. Treatment of HIV may also reduce the possibility of spreading HIV to other person throughout the sex and makes healthy.
After interacted with HIV, the first 2 to 4 weeks, the person can feel achy, feverish, and sick. The flue-like symptoms of HIV virus which are given below:

- Muscle aches
These symptoms of HIV can from a few days to several weeks. But some of the people do not feel any symptoms during this early stage of HIV.

AIDS is the last stag of HIV infection. Several symptoms of AIDS which are given below:

- Quick weight loss
- Prolonged swelling of the lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
- Diarrhea that lasts for more than a week
- Frequent fever or profuse night sweats
- Red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids
- Sores of the mouth, anus, or genitals.
- Memory loss, depression, and other neurologic disorders
These several severe symptoms and illnesses of HIV disease are come from the opportunistic infections which occur due to the immune system of the body has been damaged.
